Romania trip

The Reason why we do such mission trip with our studenst is that we desire for them to see the need for mission, but also to discover for themselves the different concepts of european churches. Our school has desire not to be only theoretical but practical too. We observed how the church is being run but also lived. We also have had a lot of opportunities to work manually in their outreach projects. It was great time. You also have to go. Have you ever been to Romania? It is beautiful country with rich culture and people with warm hearts. Two weeks ago (from Thursday to Sunday) we spent in Arad. We went (27 people) with our students to visit church Metanoia.

We travelled in 4 cars all from different locations across our country and it took us 8 hours to get there. On our arrival we were warmly welcomed.

We met with Christi (main pastor) who gave us a big picture about their ministry. And Raul (youth ministry pastor) they presented the vision and the strategy of the church and youth ministry. It is amazing that they know where they want to be in one year... and they know how to get there and for all that they use Bible as the basics upon which they build whole their vison, mission and strategy. Really interesting for me was to see that not only pastors but also the people own this vision.

We also did come to help practicly... so we spend Friday and Saturday morning working in three places. First day boys went do demolish one old barn an girls went to clean house where this church run homeless children kindergarden...

The secon day we helped at Ghyoroc little new church plant comming out from Metanoia church. We where helping on thier little new building. It was great to see their passion for people, for God´s work. I stayed with this family who leads this church and what a privilege it was to experience the warmth and passion for God.

People in Metanoia church were so full of passion and excitment for God. I got really encouraged. The highlight of this trip for me was to see Christy Barbosu the main pastor how his face glows when speaks about Gods work. There is such a strong passion and calling upon his life that you can not miss it. That assurance of calling has sweet fruits that spreads all around the church and the city and the whole Romania. They are helping 6 new churches to start.

We also visited city of Timisoara and DU (one of the 3 girls who allways organize this trip for us) was guiding us through the city and explaining us all the background and presence.

It was blessing for us to be a part of this church for a little while. Thank you for your prayers!
