The day of Christmas

Cakes are baked, christmas soup is cooked, presents are wrapped, house is cleaned... All the family is around and the night of 23rd december can go in to its rest so that we can all get up next morning and enjoy all that we worked on last few days. And even more all the children are not really sure is it Santa or Mam and Dad getting the gifts for them or how it is.... wel as we all enjoy these next few days may it be that we rest in God alone and that we all find His joy and peace. May His life shines through and in us as we wish each other Marry Christmas and Happy New year.

School of leaders - december

At the moment as I am writting our 21 students are learning how to study bible.
Last night in my class of theaching worship and creativity I prepared a prayer walk with 9 stations helping students to understand that creating environment where people can touch and taste with little instructions and Bible verses makes them experience Gods presence in a special way. Much more it helps them to discover their possition towards God. This was good night where students could meet with God. What a great time of worship it was.

I want to thankyou for praying for our school. God is bringing good fruits in this. Also thankyou for praying for the financies because we have received gifts in amount of 2500 Eur so far. All of gifts came from Slovakia. This is great shift of thinking of our people that was not used to give for Gods work.

Celebrating birthday...

This was great celebration. My sister Kati enjoy when we are together. We give thanks to God for providing for her job. We praise God for her life may God protect her on her paths. The Special person at this party was our Mother who came to visit us. We have not seen each other for long time around 2 years. Afterwards we went for bowling. It was fun. I guess we have never been doing such activity as sibilings ever.

Evening for married couples

Our church has organized very special time for our married couples. Its first this kind of meeting that we look forward to participate and invite our neighbours in the future. We have had Samo our pastor speaking about the difference between Desires and Expectations... Zuzka is member of the team that organize these meetings and tonight she contributed with a activity that revealed how much we as spouses or husbands know each other by anonymously written description about our "day off".

This is what I was reminded of.

- My desires often times changes in to selfish Expectations.

- Expectations communicate that I have right for that.

- Desires are mostly communicated in freedom and peace and Expectations are under preassure and anger.

- Put back your Expectation in to the form of Desires and give your spouse/husband freedom.

Romania trip

The Reason why we do such mission trip with our studenst is that we desire for them to see the need for mission, but also to discover for themselves the different concepts of european churches. Our school has desire not to be only theoretical but practical too. We observed how the church is being run but also lived. We also have had a lot of opportunities to work manually in their outreach projects. It was great time. You also have to go. Have you ever been to Romania? It is beautiful country with rich culture and people with warm hearts. Two weeks ago (from Thursday to Sunday) we spent in Arad. We went (27 people) with our students to visit church Metanoia.

We travelled in 4 cars all from different locations across our country and it took us 8 hours to get there. On our arrival we were warmly welcomed.

We met with Christi (main pastor) who gave us a big picture about their ministry. And Raul (youth ministry pastor) they presented the vision and the strategy of the church and youth ministry. It is amazing that they know where they want to be in one year... and they know how to get there and for all that they use Bible as the basics upon which they build whole their vison, mission and strategy. Really interesting for me was to see that not only pastors but also the people own this vision.

We also did come to help practicly... so we spend Friday and Saturday morning working in three places. First day boys went do demolish one old barn an girls went to clean house where this church run homeless children kindergarden...

The secon day we helped at Ghyoroc little new church plant comming out from Metanoia church. We where helping on thier little new building. It was great to see their passion for people, for God´s work. I stayed with this family who leads this church and what a privilege it was to experience the warmth and passion for God.

People in Metanoia church were so full of passion and excitment for God. I got really encouraged. The highlight of this trip for me was to see Christy Barbosu the main pastor how his face glows when speaks about Gods work. There is such a strong passion and calling upon his life that you can not miss it. That assurance of calling has sweet fruits that spreads all around the church and the city and the whole Romania. They are helping 6 new churches to start.

We also visited city of Timisoara and DU (one of the 3 girls who allways organize this trip for us) was guiding us through the city and explaining us all the background and presence.

It was blessing for us to be a part of this church for a little while. Thank you for your prayers!

Praise and Prayer

As I write Zuzka is speaking at our city college dorms. She was invited by intervarsity ministry to speak for girls. Zuzka is speaking on the topic: "Self-worth".
Please pray for her now.

I praise God for allowing me to speak at our church last sunday. I spoke on the topic> "Centurion's faith". Pray for our close friend who came last sunday to our church for the first time.

Tomorrow we take our 21 SPM students to mission trip to Romania/Arad. It is around 8 hours trip. Please pray for the safety on the roads. The goal of this trip is to observe different church that is opened to the world out side of the walls. We are going to help manually as well. And this time is allways good for us mentors to get deeper in to our relationship.

Also pray for our KPM (annual conference for youth leaders) next date is set for 8 april 2010 and our budget is still around 50% not fulfilled. We still has to raise 11500 eur. Well basically the conference is self paid by participants but this amount is to support me as the responsible one and my assistant trough out the whole next year. Please join us to pray for this.

Training at one of the biggest churches in our Country.

This time we have been invited to LEVICE. Some 150 km away from Zilina. Levice free evangelical church has around 400 members. 5 Teams within their structure that leads youth and their teenagers wanted to grow and learn more about how to this work better. 5 of us from TCK decided to go. For me especially it was a great honour to be involved because there I do have a lot of friends.
We have arrived late night on Friday and was welcomed by those few who initiated our visit. On Saturday morning I taught on very personal topic "How can a leader grow." Then Maruska my college did training on "Unity in the team" followed with the "Roles in the team" and finally "Discipleship". Afternoon was the time for 3 seminars: "How to prepare the speech for youth group", "How to evangelize", and "stewardship". In the evening we led the youth group. After the youth meeting we had several great conversations with local youth.
Please pray for Rasto as he seeks for wisdom on how should he be more active in this chruch. He is one of the leaders that I had chance to pray with after the youth group.
On Sunday at church I was asked to help with the worship. What an honour to be standing in front of so many people. Old, young, all the generations present to give Glory to God. What an honour to help leading to the throne of God. The band requested that this should repeat again pretty soon.
Levice people are gifted in hospitality. So you can imagine how tasty and delicious meals we ate.
Sunday afternoon was dedicated to poetic soiree. My college Maruska was reading from her book that was recently published and Dushan and I we have contributed with our own song. Even local TV station came to do some interview with us.
Two days of intensive time came to an and but we pray that all we said and sang and encouraged would continue to grow for the sake of Gods Kingdom in church of LEVICE.
Sitting in my office now while I am writing this I am just realizing that this is what God calls me for. I can not imagine do anything else.

God the Father (second SPM)

This was the main focus in all our lectures at our last School of leaders. It is always amazing to see how these students react and want to know more... What a privilage to do this.
Adopt a youth leader:
We have 21 youth leaders who are participating this year which costs 275 Euros ($400)/student. They and their churches have to raise this amount that includes their travels, housing, food, training materials and mission trip to Romania. However, some need assistance, and I'd like to ask if you'd sponsor one of these youth leaders.

To partner:
Please make a check payable to Josiah Venture, with a note indicating the account number: 36060, and send it to:

12 hours with God. Alone.

Luke 6:43 (The Message)
You don't get wormy apples off a healthy tree, nor good apples off a diseased tree. The health of the apple tells the health of the tree. You must begin with your own life-giving lives. It's who you are, not what you say and do, that counts. Your true being brims over into true words and deeds.

God has challenged me to remember that who I am in the heart is more important than what I know and how well am I able to present my self. God has spoken to me so much about my character in few areas: 1, Self discipline? - 2, Core values? – 3, Identity? – 4, Emotional security? I was able to identify the bad fruits and the „good treasure“... One of the things I have realized is that I have to do better job leading my family. Leading my wife in to emotional security, speak up and lead self discipline in every day life aspects that do not touch only the physical. Establishing the family traditions around core values that produce joy. Help my family members to find their „good treasure“ the gifts God is entrusting them with.
Then God spoke a lot about Faith. He likes to be surprised by our faith. For He knows that it is good for the Kingdom but for us too.

Luke 7:7-10
...but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed. For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

God has called me in to start asking Him to say a WORD of life. And I have a faith that if God would spoke words of life then there is going to return life. I was challenged to act in faith in so many different areas. There are many personal aspect to this but I have been also thinking about our national Youth Worker convention that has after 16 years came in to the situation where we have no funds to pay for its director and a assistant. Conference is self sustainable as budged is set in such a way that people pays for everything but the salaries. I have faith that God will bring this miraculous awakening in Slovakia through this conference back to life because it is His work, He just wants few of us to become more involved in to this piece of His Kingdom. I have decided that I will become Thermostat not the thermometer. The one that would stand up and go remind God and people that there is something of Gods business happening in Slovakia. And so I ask you to go and speak the word, become the word in His Kingdom. As I was asking why should I ask God for that He has given me another WORD.

Psalm 74:2
Remember that we are the people you chose long ago, the tribe you redeemed as your own special possession!

God wants me to take ownership for the things that matters not only to me but to Him as well. It is as strong as if God loves to be reminded of the things he has decided long time ago. Not that He would forget but that we would gain ownership and experience for all the blessings that comes with it. What about asking God to bring full emotional healing to my own family? All the past and present healed? And what about go and ask for advice someone that you respect and has experience walking with others on that path? God is beginning to do it in my family right now and you know what? I have never felt more competent „head“ of my family than it is now. Oh what a sweet freedom.

Well I don't understand really why am I not spending such time alone with God more often then once per 3 years. When there is so much He wants to speak to me. This is just great new experience for me as I have never gone away in to this for 12 hours. I started this time by singing and praising God with my guitar. One of the songs led me in to writing all the things I need to surrender to God. Then I just went on to read different portions of scripture.

Psalm 74:21
let the poor and needy praise your name.

God has confirmed my hearts desire to worship. I have searched and study worship now for last 5 years and had a lot of great opportunities to put it to the practise. Did I learned what is worship? DO I know why is the worship of my heart most important to God? Do I know how to follow His Spirit who leads to the throne? Do I know how to prepare for it? well, I wish I can say yes but I know every time I do that it is where I experience most joy. Last time I was helping a Lutheran youth group in nearby city to understand its meaning, or last time at our school of leaders teaching 21 new students... oh it was such a joy. God has also reminded me on a worship project called "in to the QUIETNESS". My brother in law STANO and I have thought about it a lot, spoke with many people about it but nothing really happens. Well now is the time for God to speak the Word's for new songs and tunes, then, keyboard, free space in record studios, then, concerts, then, a lot of other things... and then people enter in to worship... and everyone praise His name.

And finally I have asked God how He sees me. He gave me another picture of a different tree. And this tree is planted near something that I lack in my own life.

Psalm 1:1-3
How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.

Yes filling my mind and soul with stream of His word that will bring new life.

So God has spoken and I have heard it. I pray for His strength now to live by it.
I encourage you to do your SOLITUDE day soon. There is so much God has on His heart for you and people around you.

MY One day of SOLITUDE

I will ask and listen.
I will write and answer.
I want to know God more.
I want to know what He wants me to do.
I pray to know what should be our next step with our church,
next step with KOMPAS, next step in family, marriage, children
next step in evangelism and mission.
I will go away from home to some quiet place.
I hope to come back with some truth about myself and God.

Upcomming TODAY - prayer needed

Today we pray for God's wisdom, for His leadership, for His Grace.
Today Zuzka is leaving on 4 hours trip to a village on the East of Slovakia place called NESVADY. Some 15 woman would meet for Saturday breakfast and they invited Zuzka to speak to them about Sarah. Pray for her as she is preparing that God would use her in His way. May she be bold in speaking truth and ispiring other woman in obedience and love. Johanna is looking forward to have great trip with Zuzka.

Today I am invited to speak and lead worship at nearby city MARTIN. Lutheran youth invited me to help them in the area of worship. I pray that tonight it will be a night of worship. I pray that the Spirit of God would come in and start the fire of worship that would last forever. I am taking boys Oli and Viktor with me.

School of leaders with 21 new students

SPM is our nine-month program that provides training in personal character growth, leadership skills, theology, bible study principles, discipleship, Jesus strategy, and personal mentoring. This year we have 21 students, the most ever in our TCK history!

Please be praying for the teachers as they prepare each month to share biblical principles. Pray for the students that their hearts, minds and souls will be drawn to the truth and for the mentors to be sensitive to the Spirit in leading, inspiring and discipling the students.

Dad: "Johanka is now also saved"

Last night as kids where going to sleep we have been praying all in row from youngest to the oldest. And Johanka just announced: "Dad i love God very much. More then everything else." So I asked so do you want to ask Him to become your saviour?. And I have prayied with her. She uderstood that Jesus is the Son of God and that He had to die even for her. Then we continued to talk with Oli and He said: Dad: "Johanka is now 4 year old and when I was 4 I gave my life to Christ, so Johanka is now also saved."

Well this is for the first time that Johanka made her own desire to Love and belong to God. We celebrate this because God is working in and through our family. God is good.

While every body was at sleep Oli had more and more questions and He wanted to know the difference between the Catholics and us which led us to realise that people are not divided by who they are by name but by the fact do they truly believe God according JON 3:15... As a result Oli wanted to be sure so he started to conffess everything he could think of that was not good.

Well that was a special evening while Zuzka went for Party with all the friends of Marianna Miskeiova who is getting married next month.

10 years ago i have arrived to Žilina

Today I celebrate the way how God led me in spite of my fears to even think about moving.
10 years ago I was saying good bye to my colleges at christian evangelistic center where i worked for 8 years. I was saying good bye to our 120 years old church to the youth children and family.
Today i am filled with joy knowing that God is in and with me. Today i know that it was good to obey and move. God had allowed me to touch His ministry that touches hundreds of youth leaders across whole nation. And most of all God has touched my life and changed my life.

Today as I sit at the trainers conference in czech republic at our european Josiah venture organisation and i am learning even more amazing stuff about God my heart is very thankfull.
Our main topic is: "passing the baton of descipleship to the next generation"
let me pass on you few amazing truthts.
"If you are going to finish your race well you have to have clear understanding for the finish line."
"I run the race of other."
"You are not a desciple maker - Jesus through Holly Spirit is."
"You are sent by God not only to start the race but to FINISH the race."
"Create a disciple making community by inviting others in to it."
"Do not break the chain of passing the baton of descipleship... It is costly for the kingdom."
"Fruitfull disciples make a habit of doing things that unfruitfull disciple do not."
"Pray specifically for certain open door."
"Pray for specific people by making list of 10 most wanted people for kingdom."
"When you wait for natural transittion in conversation with people that need Christ do not wait too long because that transittion might never come. BE DIRECT WIT RESPECT by asking them for permission to go deeper in your conversation and if you get it never finish without CHALLENGE FOR TRUSTING their life to Christ."

Oliver broke his right arm.

Well yes he felt at the children's playground. He wanted to jump from a one peace of playground and his pants got catch of it nad he lost balance and fell on his right arm.
Next day we went in to emergency room because it was not swallen but painful and exray has revealed the truth about it. It is only as they call it "children's fracture" meaning it is not dislocated but crumbled inside of the bone but wrapping of the bone is holding it.

Anyway this is very limited for him. And at the school he cant participate much. To write is difficult even though he is trying his best.

You can pray for quick healing...

CampFest 2009

The biggest christian event that gathers around 5000 young people across the whole country of Slovakia. This is a 4 day trip to the nature with friends. There are around 5 main stages full of bands that goes on almost 24 hours non stop. This year topic was VIP - which stood for: Influence, Information, Change of children of God. The main speaker was Josh McDowell and Danny Jones. The most glorious moment happend when hundreds of these young people came out on invitation to except Christ or needed a change in their lives.

My personal role was the back stage as a stage manager/production. I was invited by Milan Macek who was responsible person for the main stage. Well and because I also disciple him it was great to do something together. We had the team of 7 people who shared the responsibilities and It was the best team ever. The special part of the work was to help Audioadrenaline ...to set up and help them to do the best performance. And really the Audioadrenaline visit to Slovakia was the result of our TCK visit to the Youth Specialities convention in Pittsburg last year in November.

This year's special was that I took my whole family with me. Zuzka rented a little house on wheels and we had some good fun being together.

The day before this festival started I was asked to speak to 200 volunteers. I spoke and lead the worship. It was such a honour to do it. I have asked God and pleaded for right message and God have gave it to me. I speak on how God loves to surprise His children. God has revealed Himself to me as the one who loves to come and use it to test our faith. Also I have found out over looking on my own life how much He uses all of those surprisses to show how Good He is. It is so often that I expect that when it comes to surprisses that I think that it should be all only Good experience not bad (like when God allowed us to have our car stolen). Well I pray that when I will be surprissed by God next time and it would be somethink I do not really like that I would trust Him that He is up to something VERY GOOD. What a blessed time it was to call all of these volunteers to trust God more... And this year we had really a lot great the best volunteers.

My siblings

I love my broter and 3 sisters.

Iveta is the only one at the moment living in different country so it is allway a great event whe she comes with her family for the visit.

We did some trips and eat some good food even grilled.

My mother came almost too and that would be first time in last 2 years. The good news about my mother is that she is finally back home. 17 years ago she left our family running away from all of us from our father to live with another man. At the presence she is by herself alone because all of us have moved away or have got our own families. I pray that she will let Christ ...to transform her life entairely because as for now she lives under compunction as how people point at her with finger how bad person she is. I think she has problem to receive forgivenes that CHrist ofers to her. SHe lacks friends and I am just looking for the way how to get her closer to us here in SLovakia. Besides that my kids do not know her and that is so sad for me.

Summer camps KECY.sk 2009

What a great opportunity to get away from the office desk and lay my hands on peoples lives. This summer we did 7 english conversational evangelistic camps. We did it together with 7 different local churches accross our country. In this way we are fulfilling our vission statement “Through our whole lives to train, help and inspire youth leaders who are raising up the next generation of Christ followers in the church”. The way how we from TCK did it is that each one of us became a member of the local's church leadership team for that camp. Beforehand we would help train the teams and then we would walk closely with the slovak leader of the camp. In this way we really do not lead the camp but are enabling a local church to do it. We help providing the US team of students that would come and live christ's life, speak in english and love students with His love. And the result after they hear gospel message and are challenged to make decission for Christ they do come to Him. We also help with the follow up that usually goes around the whole year till the next summer camp.

This year my little family and I were invited to LEVICE. I have became part of team of 10 young passionet young people full of expectations and faith to see God entering in to their 36 nonchristian friends. And yes on the last night when the invitation was offered ...two of them did it and around 8 of them wanted to pray and disscus about life issues. We praise God for that. One of the highlights was to observe te Slovak team. Wen we gave invitation that was one last room where people if they wanted they could come to exept Christ in their life and all the slovak team went to that room and prayed together for 3 hours. End each time someone would come one of them would join to that person and help them to make most important decission in their life. I was moved by this. Just BEAUTIFULL. God has blessed this church by giving them such faithful young servants who are passionet to welcome new believers in to His kingdom.

The biggest highlight for me was that again I could take my whole family to this camp. Oliver would usually stay at the evenings main program where we went through the STORY of GOD. One night ather one of the storyes Oli said: "Wow now I know how Satan became to exist." I love to see how my whole family becomes part of this ministry as well.

After the camp we had after camp party where some parents came and two of the girls even gave their testimony. Now they continue to meet with them on bible studies and partyes.

Solisko - family reunion

Solisko is the smallers village in our country. It has 6 houses and only 1 resident. And this is the place where Zuzkas father was born and grew up. SO there is the reason that we would go for few days all together with Zuzkas parents and two of her sisters and their family.
It was a great time together where Oli, Johanka and I could even stay one night in the tent.javascript:void(0)
Two days after we returned home we have got very sad news and it was that her youngest siter that expected baby just lost her baby in 6th month of pregnency. That was very painful for our whole family. You can pray for them (Pavlina a Stefan).

Church day.

Our church has been remembering its beginning when we started 3 years ago. For this cause we have gone out with the whole chruch family and the friends and few neighbours. We cooked out "gulas" played a lot fun games and few even went for rafting.
This was a good outreach event. We could meet some people that seldomly come in to our community.
There are also few new things connected with my involvement in the leadership of our church. I have asked for a year of break. Part of this is due to my deep desire and I believe a GOds call to write new songs but also because of quite full schedule with our national organization TCK.
Our kids love when Zuzka and I are teaching sunday school and this was the sunday we could do it.

Banska Bystrica - Part 2

So we went to visit Banska Bystrica. On Saturday we visited the school and just spend time socializing, discussing and just hanging together. On sunday they had their special program at the chruch for first graders. Actually first graders had a musical that they played to whole church and their nonbelivers parents. THe musical was is English language. Waw what a moment to have filled church with this kind of people and be able to share the Word of God with them.
So now we could even touch what we have been talking about. I was even leading one worship song at that meeting. After the chruch we had full tables with sandwiches and cakes and a lot of conversation went on. Slavo and Mata aproached us and asked: "SO when COULD YOU MOVE?"
So far there have been no decission yet. It looks exciting and challenging but I really was not looking for to go somewhere elese from Zilina. Most of all I would not want to leave KOMPAS ministry that is under Josiah Venture. I spoke little bit with my boss of this situation and so far there is no connection between our vision at TCK and what I would do there If I want to stay with TCK...

I do not have peace to stop thinking about it. I'd like to investigate this more. I really don't know exactly what could be our next step. The only thing I know is that I have committed for one more year here in Zilina with TCK. But what could be in one year time I do not know.
I can imagine a few things that could happen once we are there. One is to help youth leaders in this city to continue do outreach together. Even to invite them and their teams to help organize the whole KPM-conference for youth leaders which would strengthen their teams a lot. Organize a extended TCK office and find new workers with the calling to HELP, TRAIN and INSPIRE youth workers...And then the things connected to the church where we have got invitation from.
So please pray with us. We need you in this.

Oli the sports cup winner

Well this is the story of a boy who is stout to win. We have been taking him twice a week for the whole year for this hour of sport time with another 15 boys. His hight usually rank him third from the lowest end. His waight too. So small and light but so fast and stout.

Through the year they have learned to be disciplined to listen and excersize. They have learned most popular sports. They did a lot of running.

The day of counting the points from the whole year training came and we have all went... The gym where they did their sport was full of students and parents. First they call all of them to receive the medail for participation.

Then Third place for the triathlon, First place for speciall clubs compettition with bariers against the time.

By this time we thought that will be just enough but then it came. Oli has won the cup as youngest and his times where better then some times of older generation.

We have celebrated this surprisse and realized that God just made Oli to move and move fast. So when I have talked with him which school would he like to attend he told me that it would be the one where he could become even better in sports.

Woman's conference 2009

Zuzkas passion to see growing, encouraged, passion filled woman of Slovakia that are living according HIS heart has stand strong over last 10 years. And am am very privilleged to be able to walk closely beside her.
This year together with 4 very capable woman they hosted a conference with 156 woman from different denominations. They came from all over the Slovakia and for 3 days they have provided a good teaching through main speaker from Czech republic (Brigit Vimr) and other seminars. They also have had great worship time and lots of testimonies. Preparation for this conference was full of faith because all until 3 weeks before Zuzka went to a different womans conference in Czech republic they did not have a mains speaker yet. She just meet right speaker for their conference and she even could come for the exact dates. We praise God for this provision.
The rest of our family stayed with me at the same place where conference took place. I love this time with our kids. We setup the sound and video and then we go for lots of fun to the woods or children attractions. It was fun, and sometimes not so much fun that at one moment after we watched some cartoon one of our little one broke the screen on our Notebook. It is usable and We are still using it even it is broken.

At the moment we are searching the market with books for woman and find out with book could Zuzka translate. If you have any suggestion please write us. We have been also thinking about writting one on the topic "I have married nonbeliever." It would be a collection of stories.

Banska Bystrica - challenge

One of my 23 cousins lives in Banska Bystrica (2 hours drive from Zilina). For last 20 years we have not seen each other very often. As a small boys we use to play together in our grandparents yard. We use to ride home made wooden car on their street that went down hill...

Well recently we met at the place I would never imagine. I took all (3) kids on my bicicle and went of for a ride. On the way around our damm I have got a coll from a friends telling me that at one castle there is a old age presentation program and that they can get us in the castle for free. I thought well I didnt plan to go that far but if kids gona have good fun I will do it. I have got there it took me Hour and half and it was fun.
On the way bacek just at that castle I am sudennly seeing my cousin Slavo Poloha. I could not believe to see him and his family. What a surprise. And so I have invited them to visit us that day. They came and shared a lot of what God is doing in their city and church. Slavo is the pasto of this little free evangelcial church and Mata is a school director of elementary school that is organized by their chruch. This is very unique in slovakia as there are only 2 such schools.http://www.narniabb.sk They also explained us how God is oening the doors for the parents to visit church more often and how much could be done. THEN THEY TURNED TO US AND SAID: "COME AND HELP US. MOVE TO OUR CITY AND HELP US IN THE CHRUCH WITH KIDS AND PARENTS." Wow. What a chellenge.
I have not expected this question at all. We have been in Zilina exactly 10 years. I suddenly didn know what to say. We promised to come to visit...

KPM 2009 23. – 26. April

This 16 th conference brought for 560 attenders the attitude of RESTART in their relationship to God, to people and to their service. The topic was again very relevant as we found out from reactions of attenders who said that there is lack of balance between activities, programs an personal relationships with other youth members but also with God alone.

Main speakers focused on restart in the area of personal passion for God, restart in your ministry, your attitudes, restart in relationship with the word of God and Discipleship. This year we added different artists to our main sessions for more inspiration and for the reason that youth workers could see different ways and possibilities on how to do youth ministry. There where around 70 participants that where led by Gods spirit and created great KPM atmosphere which God used for encouragement, change, inspiration, and for to gain new strength for such important ministry in Slovakia.

There were also another 70 volunteers who sacrificed a lot of hours and gave their gifts and abilities so that KPM could be a place where youth workers with their teams returns each year. The leaders of different areas at KPM who provide different services with their teams of volunteers they bring a lot of joy and inspiration and this year because of volunteers we have got to grants. One from our city and one from the government. The conference main room in Žilina was full again with a new generation of workers with young people who came from 118 towns and villages across Slovakia who belong to 160 different communities and denominations. This year we invited mainly youth workers because that is the target group we work with. This resulted in smaller numbers on attender side, but this is the year when we had the most of those from our target group. Total number of attenders was 559. Out of this number we had 164 that were youth leaders and if we add their team members that number is 236 and total number of those that are involved in the youth ministry is 400. One of our main speakers that comes from Slovenia when he was observing that energy and potential up from the balcony in tears he said: „God please raise such army of leader workers with youth in our country of Slovenia, too.“

We believe that God is building and raising His own army of workers with youth by using KPM, which is the biggest conference for youth workers in Europe and this is the reason we are thankful to God for each year when we can organize it.

For the end please read some reactions of those who attended KPM 2009:

„Thank you, that you build us and that you invest in to new generations“
„I am in awe how is this and the rest of KPM so relevant... and it react on circumstance and situation that Christianity in Slovakia is. You should not stop doing that.“
„I think that it is so great that there are people who's desire is to encourage youth workers and would even organise something so great like KPM.“
„Thank you for everything... specially for your care and our growth. Simply that it bothers you to know what kind of life could such common „leaders“ somewhere far in some village have. And we want to tell you that it has great meaning.“
„This is my firs KPM and I am so happy, that I could hear and experience things, that I believe will restart of my life. Thank you.“
„Thank you for everything, for this weekend that fully focused on God. In this world there is so much noise and that is why I have not heard from Him for long time. Thank you for all the encouragement, the peace, assurance of Gods love – I needed to experience it again.“
„KPM was done well. The drama and artists... it is so pity that time flies so fast and I have to count down days before next KPM conference again.“
„Keep on, you are doing such a great things.“
„KPM is 100 times better than my team members have describe it to me. I really like it and am am already looking for next year...“
„Thank you for the time of refreshing, rest, encouragement, restart and thinking. Thank Lord for all you do.“
„This was really best time for me. God was at work. I am looking forward to next KPM. I came for the first time and it was very inspiring and really speak to me.“
„I love to return here because this is the time of drawing the new, remove the old and the time of rest. I thank God that through you He is giving us the place to be together as one Church.“
„Today it was sawing. We will wait for germination, growth and fruit. KPM is needed like salt in the bread.“
You are doing great work. Each year this is the event for me. You are great team, I can hardly imagine that there would be no KPM.

For me and my team KPM is always time of encouragement and there are things that help us grow.

The trip to the East went really good.

Thank you all for prayers. We have been able to serve in different ways but most important of all was that we could do it as the family. The main goal for this visit was young man - Jano Havrila, who is one of the students at our School of leaders that I mentor.

On Friday we have traveled for 5 hours to be able to come on time for teenager meeting where Zuzka mainly was speaking about self worth and relationships. Then we splitted in to boys and girls and had some deeper discussions. The time was short so we agreed to continue next day after the youth meeting.

Next day Saturday we visited the city but also visited home where Jano lives. We meet his family mom and dad and his siter. That evening Jano was teaching and I have led worship. I have to say that I was plesently surprised to learn how Jano well thought young people from the John 10 - I am the shepherd.... After that time together nobody seems to wanted to leave so they stayed and wanted me to continue from yesterday to speak something about 5 love languages and how practicly it works in our marriage. It was really great time.

Sunday we visited the church I have grew up in Presov. Then we went for lunch with our friends Andruscakovci. For the night we stayed with the family that has same family name. And Oli just could not understand how it is possible that there is another family with the same name. Our kids and their kids clicked so well.

Monday we visited family friends in Kosice. We just wanted to encourge them and spend some time together as the mother of two little children has tumor on her brain that has been treated by irradiation. They still dont know the results.

Tuesday we went back to Presov to visit some more relatives and later in that evening we had meet with other stuff members and planned the KPM program.

Wednesday we had our TCK staff meeting and at lunch we have traveled home.

My observation and overall understanding is that Lutheran church in Bardejov has great potential, lots of activities and lots of young people. I was even able to talk to the pastor and learn few of his desires for the future. The family we stayed with has became another grand parents to our children. They loved them so much. The couple Benovy has served us greatly.

- At evening I lead worhip and Jano (my student is speaking) and I am taking notes for further evaluation...

22nd. - Visiting the church I grew up when I was little
- Visiting relatives and friends

23rd. - Visitinig a family with 2 small children whose mother fights tumor in her head...

Dad give me an advise...

Tell me how many dads would love to hear this call from their children...
I would love to share one that Oliver called on me.

Last week he had competition in basketball. Because one week before it we have realized that basket ball is not the easiest sport to play for Oli and that he does not really understand it I took him to the place where you can hit ball even in the late night.... and we tried to learn how to hold the ball, how to lead the ball, how to throw the ball. I didnt know much but What I knew I told him... He improved a little...
So the day for his competition came... He had two disciplines and each was against time and skill. The one I was mostly afraid was the one in which he has to score as much as possible in certain time...
He had two tries. The first one he score none as most of the class (around 14 of them).
After every one had their go, they started the second and last round.

I was watching Oli as his friends were missing to score. He would go to try on the side to improve as much as he could. I saw him being a little nervous and then at once He run to me. He came very close to where I was standing and he said: "Dad give me an advise" I knew exactly what I should tell him because for the last half an hour seeing him how he does it I was wispering these words to my self.... I told him, Oli throw the ball from the side, do not came to close under the cage, and take it slow do not rush, if you score 3 balls you win... He run back... and was called to do his last round. He did everything I told him and guess what. He scored 3 times. WOW what a celebration that was for him but also for my self.

You know again I have understood the joy and celebration God must throw around the heaven when one of his children comes to Him and say "Dad give me an advise" and then they obey Him in all He said. Friends I do really want to be like Oliver in this matter. Because there is greater joy on bouth sides.

Oliver then afterwards came to me and said: "Dad you gave me the best advice and I scored"!

Job 12:13 With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.

Viktor's 2nd birthday

Viktor loves trains. If you would love to experience how a little boy get all excited then bring him train or take him to see one. These days trains to him is all.

A the moment he is in such stage of growing phase that is easily defined as stubborn. And he love's to run away in totally wrong direction that we would love him to go. He is full of energy and he copyes everything that Oliver does. And that is a good thing because Oli is very careful and smart boy that loves to obey and do good.

We rejoice having these gifts from God. Even if it is hard at times they are really the blessing from God.

4 birthday for Johanka

Johanna was born exactly 4 years ago.

What a beutiful girl she is. We love her and pray that she would continue to grow in the beauty that matters to God.

When we have asked her who would she want to invite to come for her birthday party she answered. I do not want little children to come but all the mothers and big girls that are great friends to me... what a unique idea... this is just who Johanka is ... she is very opinionated...

Here are few of the pictures...

Valentines Youth Group in Batizovce

Zuzka and I have been invited to do a youth group on the Valentines day on the topic: Love between the two.
We traveled to Batizovce which is very small village in the mountains "Tatry". This is very beautifull small village that has something nice about it. Little stream going between the two churches and a manor house.

The reason we went out there was a invitation by two of our SPM (school of leaders) students. When we arrived we have been surprissed how many young people had came. The group of 36 young people have become very engaged as Zuzka led first two icebreakers. She talked about 5 love languages and I have filled it with practical examples... Then I was singing one of my songs written to my oldest sister for her wedding.
THen I continued talking about the importence to be filled by God before you go and GIVE yourself to that other preson. THen ZUzka continued to help all of them write the list of the things they would love for that person to have and encourge them to first become that very person from that list.
On the end I seng a song I have written to my Zuzka at our wedding.

After short break we have continued separately boys and girst and that have been just great hour and half of laugh and serius learing on how to be responsible man... created on Gods image...

We are very thankfull for this opportunity to serve and I believe this is just our start for my Zuzka and me to serve together. My prayers are becoming reality because I have dreamed that one day together with my wife we will be able to speak about our relationship and marriage as something beautiful and something that God created.

We have a car

We want to thank all of you who have been faithfully praying and also giving for us and our situation with our car. God has choose this way to bring glory to Him self. And I am honored to be part of it.

I am not sure do you know the whole story since we have started to get so much financial gifts. So just in short> One of the christian families in Slovakia reading those previous blogs called us and explained that they wanted to help. Their offer to us was to return all of our debts for previous stolen car and than what is left then to give for this car. They said that they want to bless us by doing that. This car belonged to their father who passed away and left this almost new car in the garage. The car is 4 years old and has only 24800 miles. It suites our family well. We are praising God.

One of our neighbours have asked me> I dont know how you understand all of this but I see this as a miracle. I would not find help by anyone not even from my closest family...

Well I wanted you to hear this because this is result of your care for us as for your very closest family.

What is the outcome from this last 6 months?
- God made him self known to us and people who do not know Him yet.
- I and my family know him better
- My brother Robi who knew about God decided to walk daily with Him
- For those who watched this closely their faith has growned
- We enjoy the peace from no debets and fantastic car.

Trnava

Usually I would never travel to the city I have never visited and that is off the main road to our capital.

Well I did had a very good reason to go there. Young man Jozef lives there and I have had most inspirational time over past few months. This young man inspires me in his life with God and people around him.

I am his mentor through our SPM (school of leaders) but I have feeling that it is extraordinary different then just mentor and student.

On my visit to Trnava I was privileged to be at their team meeting. I was able to see and listen how Jozef leads and care for people. I could hear one of their Lutheran pastor speak about him, and finally udnerstand the context Jozef is serving.

I was able to walk around his city and listen the stories and meet the people and eat great "kebab".

I was able to visit his almost finished house that his parents build - what a great investment his parents are making I believe not just for them selves but for the kingdom. I am sure my wife would want us to hove such a home.

I was able to visit his family and feel the joy and beauty in the way how they relate to each other. And when I saw his father I realized why Jozef is so calm and filled with joy. So free and so eccepted, so loved and so giving love.

Our time was soon to be over so the last thing I was able to experience with Jozef was his place where he literally runs in to Gods presence. It is this very flat and big field that has no end and you can run and run and run... just be with Him... and is so quiet there...

The reason why Jozef is inspiration for me is his dedication and faithfulness to the call God gave him. And that is to stay in his city and get involved into the ministry of his local church as much as he has strength. Young as he is with all the talents in graphic, web, music, sports, and many more, would take such man somewhere else but not usually to the kingdom of God but to the kingdom of money...

I like his teachable heart. He loves to listen but he also speaks boldly when the Spirit troubles his heart.

I praise God for Jozef's life and invite you all to pray for him as he stands in so many responsibilities that he would keep shine and inspire many of his age (22).

Training for teams with our SPM students.

Once or twice per year we are encouraging our students from our school of leaders to bring their teams and experience great 24 hours of inspiration, depth, lessons, seminars, discussion, worship, activities, fun, and the dynamics of other 8 teams from all over the country.

I think when it comes to these trainings I feel that this is the reason I want to be serving God in this organization.

This time my responsibility was to teach at Worship seminar, leading worship time together, and the role of facilitator with one of 8 teams.

The highlight of the time together for me was the inspirational night with Zac.

The teams evaluation was high and that weekend was worth spending time energy and money.
